As Sanxenxo faces southwards, it enjoys pleasant, gentle temperatures all the year round. IF YOU FEEL LIKE A STROLL
The coastal walk along the towns of Sanxenxo and Portonovo
You can start this walk in either Sanxenxo or Portonovo. Along the 7 kilometre walk you will enjoy visiting the little cove of Caneliñas, the fishing port of Portonovo, the dunes on the Baltar Beach - with a stop at the Punta Vicaño Park - the Silgar Beach and the Juan Carlos I leisure port in Sanxenxo. This walk can be enjoyed at any time of the day, but if you go during the afternoon you will be able to enjoy watching the fish auction at the Portonovo fishmarket.

The Hermitage of our Lady of A Lanzada
Dawn or dusk, at any time of the year, is the perfect time to visit the 12th century hermitage of Our Lady of A Lanzada. It is located on a headland that juts out into the Atlantic. In springtime or in summer, the sunset over the Island of Ons (Atlantic Islands National Park) with its orange tones is quite breathtaking.
A FEAST FOR THE PALATE
Seafood or octopus
Our seafood and our octopus are outstanding. We recommend you enjoy them with a delicious glass of Albariño wine. Enjoy the octopus in a little bar and the seafood in any bar or restaurant. Remember that you can enjoy octopus throughout the year and that the seafood is at its best in those months that have the letter “R” in their name.
ATMOSPHERE
The Portonovo fishmarket
In the town of Portonovo, in the area around the fishmarket, there are always things happening: ships arriving or departing, the unloading of catches, or the fish auction. You can enjoy watching this at any time of the year but you may find it more relaxing out of season.
